VIDEO: Accessibility for people with disabilities before, during and after a pandemic
In a pandemic, the human species knew the confinement and restriction of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Confinement and isolation have been the reality for People with Disabilities (PwD), before and during the pandemic, and they will be in the new normal, because the digital ecosystem, being neither accessible nor usable, constitutes an almost insurmountable barrier .
Guaranteeing the exercise of digital citizenship to PwD urgently requires harmonizing the legal reality, human rights, and fundamental freedoms; the rights, corporate, copyright and intellectual property, economic, and execute quick and forceful actions that have the purpose of transcending the concept incorporated in the norm to recover the person as a subject of rights, because the real risk is that the closure of the digital divide leave the PwD buried between laws, decrees, public policy documents, theorizing.
